2016 A Good Year All Round

The OakLeaf Group has had a fantastic year in all kinds of ways.

February – saw us identified by the London Stock Exchange as one of the most dynamic and fast-growing SMEs in the country numbering in the top 1000 across all business sectors.

March – We achieved an ‘Outstanding’ score from CQC in the Well Led category for our rehabilitation service at Hartwell. All other areas were scored as ‘Good’.

Also in March we were acquired by Care Tech Community Services, providing new investment and resources to support further development of the organisation.

April – Saw the first residents being admitted to our brand new service opened on the Hartwell site (Orchard House). This service provides more assessment and active rehabilitation beds for men with a brain injury.

August – The first 12 beds open in the new service Orchard House were all full and plans being made to recruit staff to open the other 10 beds later in the year.

November – The OakLeaf Group attended the annual LaingBuisson National Care Awards Dinner in London to celebrate being shortlisted as a finalist in the Award Category of ‘Management Excellence’. Farouk and Haroon Sheikh, Directors of CareTech were awarded a special industry award for their outstanding contribution to healthcare in the UK.

Residents from The OakLeaf Group attended an Award Ceremony in London where they submitted artwork in the CareTech Arts & Crafts Competition 2016. The awards were presented by Julian Spurling, Head of Adult Services.

December – A number of OakLeaf staff attended a glittering ceremony held at Whittlebury Hall Spa and Conference Centre to celebrate their Regional CareTech Awards for their contribution to our services. Of the five regional winners, Dan Gordon won the National Award for ‘Team Player of the Year’ – a much deserved recognition of Dan’s energy and commitment to his role.

December also saw the opening of the remaining 10 beds on Orchard House so these will be available for assessment and rehabilitation placements into 2017.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff and everyone else who has worked with us in 2016. We look forward to working with you all again in 2017 and to another successful year. Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year to all.
