CQC inspected the main Northamptonshire based services in May 2018 and were extremely impressed stating that “the service demonstrated an excellent commitment to providing outstanding support, which put people at the heart of everything. The provider and registered manager (Kathy Swannell) led the staff to deliver person centred care, which had achieved consistently outstanding outcomes for people. The staff continuously went beyond expectations to ensure that people received truly individualised care that was responsive to their needs… staff were innovative in their approach to support and were enthusiastic about supporting people to overcome life’s challenges”.

Feedback from staff, family members and commissioners for this service has been positive and enormously motivating. One staff member said: “I love my job and feel very privileged to witness the things I do, to get to see people experiencing joy again, to see them re-connect with the world.” Commissioners of the service are equally impressed with one stating: “I think they are amazing, their expertise, the teamwork and the consistent approach, they do not see people’s behaviour as a barrier to rehabilitation; I have nothing but praise for them.”

The Oakleaf Group strives for excellence and is deeply honoured to receive this rating from the CQC. It was also recognised by CQC that the management team continually encourage and support the staff to provide the best possible person centred care for people and their families and to lead an organisation that goes to great efforts to involve the service in the local and wider community.

Deputy Operations Director, Dan Gordon stated: “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole team and reflects the wonderful effort that they put in on a daily basis to enhance the quality of people’s lives.”

CareTech Specialist Services Managing Director, Helen Stokes, added: “This CQC rating at Oakleaf is truly well deserved and demonstrates the inclusive team approach which supports our residents to achieve their goals. Our Specialist Services Division has plans to develop and grow its services, knowing that we have an ‘outstanding’ platform on which to do so.”
